Access Israel is a non-profit organisation, founded in 1999 by Yuval Wagner, an ex-Israeli Air Force pilot. He was injured in a helicopter crash in 1987 which left him paralysed from the neck down and bound to a wheelchair. Realising the lack of accessibility for disabled people, he created the organisation with the goal of making Israel accessible and inclusive - for people with all disabilities and the elderly, in all areas of life. In the last two decades Access Israel has developed various methodologies and best practices to promote accessibility and inclusion.

During the panel, Yuval will present the organisation. We will also hear from Dr. Yael Benvenisti, CEO of Mediterranean Towers Ventures, a corporate venture capital investing in wellness and Agetech early-stage technology companies. She will discuss the demographics and characteristics of the ageing population, areas in which we see technological developments for the elderly and things that should be emphasized when developing technology for this age.

Current technological developments for elderly population accessibility, created by various start-ups and solution providers, will also be demonstrated.

In person entry to Tel Aviv University subject to Green tag rules - masks and proof of vaccination/covid test required.
