The fifth Israel International Photography Festival will take place in Tel Aviv in November 2017, having become over time a well-known institution attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. For a period of two weeks, the festival presents the works of leading international photographers from more than 30 different countries.
The festival is organised by Platforma, an independent company not supported by governmental funding (non-profit), operating since 2009. The festival enables the company to promote its values, including social activism and building bridges between cultures and communities. The company’s directors and members are philanthropists, photographers, artists and social activists. Most of the members are volunteers, motivated by their vision of improving our society through the universal language of photography.
Platforma has initiated and produced five photography festivals in Israel that have welcomed over 200,000 visitors. The company is active in Israel and abroad to promote its vision through multiple photography events, workshops and social activism programmes.
