Grantees of the programme attended the Wohl Clean Growth Alliance workshop held in March at the British Council Offices in London, which is one of London’s greenest buildings. The event, which was attended by the British Ambassador to Israel and the leadership of the Wohl Legacy, hosted over 30 British and Israeli researchers working on Clean growth to present their work, take part in round table and panel discussions and meet senior policy makers.

The day began with four presentations of the Alliance funded projects, demonstrating the varied scope of the programme. The presentations’ topics ranged from river and coastal management to, a new model for cooperation on water in the Middle East. And the development of Data driven agricultural decision making. In the next session, four early career researchers who were awarded travel fellowships to visit partner labs in Israel and the UK presented their work in a ‘quick-fire session’.

We were delighted to host Shlomi Kaufman, Vice President, International Division, Israel Innovation Authority, in a panel discussion on international cooperation in research and innovation.

The day concluded with theme based round table, where researchers working in the fields of water, agriculture and food, and environment and sustainability research sat together to meet, discuss opportunities and challenges and scope for collaboration ideas.
